An Early View of Autonomous Marketing

Long before generative AI became a mainstream business topic, Doug was focused on a more fundamental question: what happens when marketing becomes too data-rich, too fast-moving, and too complex for human decision-making alone to keep pace?

In 2014, he founded Core7 around a simple premise: the future of marketing would require a platform that could continuously ingest data, predict outcomes, and optimize campaigns across channels by engineering automated decisions throughout the ecosystem. Core7 was conceived as a marketing intelligence platform built to connect data, analytics, strategy, creative, engagement, measurement, and automation in a continuous learning loop. At the center of that vision was Doug’s concept of the Marketing Master Algorithm℠ — a decision engine designed to turn data into action with increasing speed, intelligence, and precision.

Though Core7 did not secure the capital needed to reach full commercialization, the venture anticipated a direction the industry is only now beginning to fully embrace.
